Kensington Business Solutions (KBS) helps small businesses become profitable and poised for growth.  Results from services provided include, increased cash flows, lower long-term back office costs, lower labor costs, accounting personnel placement that fits the organization (lowering turnover costs), increased productivity, and an overall sense of increased control over the day-to-day operations.  KBS staff know the ins and outs of running a small business.

KBS is owned and operated by Robin H. Thieme. She acts as a trusted advisor and hands-on problem solver to small businesses grappling with the challenges of growth.

Robin is both a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Information Technology Professional (CITP).  This unique combination along with her twenty plus years of experience in working with the realties of small business issues, allows her to integrate both financial and technology tools to create cost-efficient and effective systems.  Robin also brings a blend of 'can-do' problem solving with higher level business advisory recommendations.  Robin has an approachable, communicative, team-building style.  She has a strong desire to find practical solutions to your business problems.  However, she would rather have her clients speak for her.

KBS is located in Kensington, Maryland, just minutes from the heart of the nation's capitol.

 KBS staff are prepared to work remotely, or on site, depending on client and project needs.

Rita Klein

Rita has worked for Kensington Business Solutions since fall of 2004.  She is or has been the bookkeeper for several of our clients in many industries including real estate management, food services, consulting, and health related fields.  Rita also does the initial set up for new clients and trains and supervises administrative staff members who work directly for our clients.  Rita lives in Kensington with her husband and high school aged daughter.

Ilana Knab

Ilana joined KBS in the spring of 2008.  She currently provides bookkeeping services for several clients.  Ilana also provides technical support to both KBS clients and staff, assisting with various hardware and software installations.  She brought to KBS years of experience in  benefits consulting and defined contribution plan administration.  Ilana lives in Bethesda, MD  with her husband and four children.
